The Proposal

Oh, Snap! 

Due to the insanity of life, I have fallen behind in these blog posts, so to make up for my missing presence, I will be posting way more regularly.

Let's start with the Proposal!

Transformative Art is an idea that was inspired by the childhood game of "Telephone," where the person at the start of the line begins with a word or phrase and whispers it to the next person. The next person will then whisper it to the following person, and so forth. It concludes with the last person in the line sharing the final word/phrase with the first person, who then says their original version to the rest of the group. With this final version, we get to see the transformation of the word. The research will take this game and create it into an art installation where instead of a phrase that gets passed along, art in different forms will be the new message. Being able to understand the creative process of each piece is an integral part of the project, and we plan to interview each artist about their creative process. The project itself will have seven artists, in various art mediums, creating individual pieces that will get put together at the end in a theatre space as an installation showing the progression of the transformation of the initial piece.
